So, this morning I woke up and was horrified when I quickly scanned through the email I sent you last night and I realized that I made a really stupid mistake!
I felt so silly... but truth be told that I am known to be a bit of a "blonde" sometimes... :) At first I was distraught and immediately I was considering writing you an email to apologize for my grammatical and 'lapse of concentration' error... but then I immediately burst out laughing out loud when it dawned on me how funny the whole thing actually is... I hope some of you got a little chuckle out of it. Yes, I have been to Greece a couple of times, but I played the part of 'Frenchie' in the musical GREASE! Sometimes it is glaringly obvious that my mind is in more than one place at a time. All I could do was laugh about it... out loud, a real belly laugh, what else is there to do? Laugh at Yourself
Hey look, I know that was not exactly a serious or life altering mistake, but I think it is always important to maintain a healthy sense of humor about your own mistakes and shortcomings. I mean, stressing about doing something wrong or making a mistake is not going to change the fact that it is done.
So why get yourself in a 'tizzy" about it? No matter what it is... life has to go on. So laugh about it, get over it... and then find a way to correct it, or if it isn't something you can fix... look forward, move on, tomorrow is always a new day with new possibilities. Learn from your mistakes... next time I'll read through my email one extra time and make sure I am completely in the moment while doing it so I don't make another error like that. By being able to laugh at your own mistakes, you might even brighten up someone else's day... For instance... just a simple example: You might get in an elevator and press the wrong button... instead of scolding yourself for it, or hiding in the corner because you are causing everyone else to stop on an extra floor... why not just laugh about it... make light of it... joke about it... and you'll have a whole elevator or smiling faces. The point is, someone who has real Pizzazz understands that we all make mistakes sometimes and that it is important to be able to laugh at yourself when you slip up. Also... be forgiving to others, we are all human, nobody is perfect. We can all strive towards perfection, but allow yourself the joy of laughing at your own mistakes! I want to thank all of you for maintaining a sense of humor over my mistake and for those of you that so tactfully notified me about my "blonde moment" today... thanks to you all. It is really good to get feedback and to hear from you even if it is because I did something stupid, haha - I am loving the attention:) Kind Regards Vanessa Bader P.S. Life should be fun... don't take yourself too seriously! Nothing like a good laugh to make you feel and look younger and more energetic. |
